Idli rice grains are short, thick, and have a white spot in the middle of the grain. Idli rice is usually soaked along with urad dal and ground in a wet mixer, which then is the batter used to make the Idli (South Indian rice cakes), Dosa, and other varieties of dishes. It is Gluten-free.
